Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, execute marketing data and analytics strategies, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations for optimizing our customer acquisition and marketing efforts. Lead the implementation and management of a measurement program that includes technical setup, integrating multiple sources of marketing and customer behavior data, creating custom dashboards, and analyzing data to inform short-term and long-term forecasts and business decisions. Present timely and relevant analysis and reports that answer key questions asked by senior leadership, the Board of Trustees, and other department stakeholders, which includes Membership, Development, Finance and Accounting, Guest Experience, Education, and Exhibits. Perform other duties as required.

Core Activities:
Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and customer segments while evaluating churn, retention, and acquisition behaviors.
Create methodologies to quantify the impact of marketing initiatives through data analysis.
Provide recommendations and insights based on data analysis to help optimize marketing strategies and evaluate metrics to drive performance against established goals.
Develop frameworks, tools, and processes to ensure that analytical insights are incorporated in key decision-making by leaders across the Aquarium.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) by collaborating with stakeholders to establish clear and actionable KPIs aligned with the Aquariums goals.
Monitor and report on data and analytics industry trends to inform marketing strategies.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into the effectiveness of marketing performance and answers relevant questions asked by stakeholders across the Aquarium, which includes Membership, Development, Guest Experience, Sales, Education, and Exhibits.
Define and configure marketing measurement tactics on platforms, which includes web, social, advertising, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (email and texting), to ensure relevant data is captured to determine the effectiveness of marketing efforts to meet Aquarium’s annual goals.
Develop and implement multivariate tests and experiments to continuously optimize marketing performance across our platforms, which includes the websites, social, advertising and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (email and texting).
Evaluate, select, and implement cutting-edge tools and systems for efficient data collection and ensure seamless integration of data sources across the Aquariums data operations.
Audit and validate data inputs and records to ensure quality of data sources.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
BA/BS in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Proficiency with marketing data and analytics, specifically with Salesforce and marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (equivalent to a BA or BS in a related Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics field or 4 years of work experience)
Strong understanding of statistical modeling and quantitative analysis techniques, including the development and use of attribution and media mix models
Understanding of relational database table design and proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL)
Ability to independently break down large datasets and synthesize inputs from multiple sources
Advanced analytics and reporting skills with direct experience with standard data analysis tools such as Google Analytics 4
Ability to use data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio or Tableau) to provide actionable insights and reusable frameworks
Familiarity with marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Experience identifying and adapting imperfect data
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to distill complex ideas into easily understandable data narratives
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to juggle competing priorities within tight timeframes
Proactively digs beneath the superficial to identify relevant, information-based facts
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - possessing a willingness and flexibility to “pitch in” with various ad-hoc projects to help support the larger Marketing team

Annual Compensation Range:
$93,500-$119,000 USD annually. Starting rate will vary based on previous experience and relevant skills/knowledge set.
