Job Description
We are seeking a Marketing Assistant Intern to join our team at Dobbs Equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for executing administrative tasks, monitoring execution of events and tradeshows, and basic marketing/public relation support. This position also supports projects focused on our company’s growth, including company events, trade association events and product expos, along with OEM co-op and various special projects. This is a Part-Time temporary internship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative Efforts
- Working with vendors to order and disperse promo items and customer gifts to branches.
- Maintaining scheduling for events and tradeshows
- Supporting Co-op efforts by submitting reimbursement claims.
Event Planning Efforts
- Help with execution of company events including employee and customers targeted events.
- Assist and execute trade association events and other trade shows which at times require overnight stays.
- Assist execution of activities to support event strategy.
- Works with team members to review scheduled events and troubleshoot potential challenges/conflicts.
- Work with trade associations to retrieve attendees and membership list to support CRM audience expansion.
Marketing/Public Relation Efforts
- Produce and distribute bi-monthly employee newsletter. Utilizing the company established template, create content with limited copy writing and graphics.
- Support organic social media efforts with scheduling on both Dobbs Equipment and Dobbs Positioning Solutions socials.
- Engaging on all platforms with viewers by liking, commenting, responding to direct messages, and inviting to follow.
- Supporting Google Business updates and reviews utilizing company established PR templates and reputation management software.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely for multiple audiences.
- Basic understanding of social media and email creation and scheduling.
- Project and event management experience preferred. Position requires management of several concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Must have competence in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Acrobat and quickly adapt to new software systems. Canva experience is a plus.
- Must have a great deal of flexibility to handle the changing work environment.
- Must be mature, team orientated and possess a positive attitude.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must adhere to ethical principles, has sound character and honesty
Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job must be at the minimum in progress. Includes degrees, certificates, licenses and/or registration requirements.
- Has or working towards a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or related field.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
