The Washington Metro Transit Authority is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to lead the charge in managing our organization¿s IT assets across their full lifecycle.
In this role, you¿ll be responsible for overseeing procurement, deployment, tracking, and retirement of hardware and software assets. You¿ll play a key role in ensuring compliance, reducing costs, and supporting our digital transformation initiatives. Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or any related field.
In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED and an additional four (4) years of experience Information Technology asset management, project management, and developing and implementing processes will be considered.
Experience
Eight (8) years of experience in Information Technology asset management, project management, and developing and implementing processes. Must include demonstrated leadership experience handling cross-cultural effectiveness and capability of driving change.
Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Certification/Licensure

Preferred Qualifications
Cross-cultural effectiveness and capability of driving change is desired.
Experience with project management methodologies (Isn't this included in project management experience?)
Certified Information Technology Asset Manager (CITAM)
Certified Asset Management Professional (CHAMP)
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
Understanding of International Organization for Standardization Standard 9001 is a plus.

Summary
The Manager, Information Technology Asset Management manages, controls, and protects the Information Technology assets within Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (i.e., hardware and software) throughout its lifecycle, from acquisition to final disposition. The Manager drives the implementation and improvement of asset management processes, supporting the authority¿s goals of digital modernization. The role includes the leadership of teams responsible for managing Information Technology assets, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and ensuring compliance with asset management standards.
Job Duties
Drives the implementation of asset management processes and systems to track, maintain, and optimize Information Technology assets across departments, including overseeing upgrades and replacements.
Ensures that asset procurement, distribution, and disposal comply with WMATA¿s standards and digital transformation objectives.
Oversees the coordination of asset data migrations and system upgrades, ensuring assets are maintained in accordance with internal policies and federal regulations.
Develops, implements, and refines asset management policies and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support digital modernization initiatives.
Leads the change management process for asset management systems, ensuring business needs are met through risk assessment, prioritization, and the implementation of system enhancements.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve asset management through technology-driven solutions.
Manages a team responsible for asset tracking, reporting, and inventory control. Provides oversight, guidance, and training to ensure team members adhere to best practices.
Serves as the primary liaison between Digital Modernization, Procurement and Materials, and other internal departments to ensure alignment between asset management processes and Digital Modernization goals.
Collaborate with asset owners to assess business needs, identify gaps, and develop system enhancements to improve data integrity and asset management practices.
Oversees the reporting of asset status, including availability, utilization, and life cycle projections.
Analyzes data to ensure assets are properly tracked and managed.
Develops reports for senior management on asset management performance, issues, and progress toward digital modernization goals.
Ensures proper use and continuous improvement of the enterprise asset management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of Information Technology assets.
Ensures that all asset management activities comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor compliance with internal asset management standards and guidelines and enforce adherence to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles.
