Overview The purpose of this role is to provide oversight, nursing leadership, and regional collaboration for Dartmouth Health Connected Care's TeleICU, TeleEmergency, and Inpatient Central Monitoring telehealth services. The role plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, patient/family centered virtual care 24 hours a day across all three service lines. The TeleICU program is integrated into 105 beds among six hospitals via a 24/7 Hub physician and nurse, providing 24/7 monitoring and on-demand response, support of the bedside nurse, proactive and reactive patient management, ongoing predictive analytics, as well as providing quality and outcomes measures. The TeleEmergency service is hardwired into 11 hospitals in Northern New England providing on-demand collaborative care from a dedicated Hub physician and nurse for critically ill and injured adult and pediatric patients. The Central Monitoring Hub is connected to 185 beds providing monitoring, oversight and response 24/7 for patients on telemetry. In this role, the person meets and collaborates regularly with departmental and executive leadership in regional hospitals, This includes ongoing operational and clinical quality assurance assessment and improvement as well as workflow optimization while effectively aligning care delivery with the use of technology . To support those services, this role also advocates for and allocates available resources to promote effective, safe and compassionate virtual nursing care and continuous monitoring services.
Responsibilities Interact, collaborate, and communicate with departmental and/or executive leadership at DHMC and at multiple regional hospitals. Effectively manage relationships of the Connected Care stakeholders to ensure clinical competency of staff, quality of patient/family centered care and professional development of clinical staff across multiple service lines (TeleICU, TeleEmergency, and Inpatient Central Monitoring). Identifies opportunities for best practices and continued improvement and oversees implementation of such practices for regional hospital partners. Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and operationalizing best practices in team care coordination for Dartmouth Health and other regional hospital partners Manages the teams and processes across the Connected Care telehealth hubs to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience. Manages TeleED, TeleICU and Central Monitoring Hub cross functional teams including staffing based on volumes, and employee performance. Develops and manages the operational budget for the 3 telehealth units. Monitors program revenues, telehealth hub expenses and operational expenses; provides required reports and financial presentations to administration. Assures that applicable regulatory standards are met in the clinical area. Assures that evidenced based practice and nursing practice standards are achieved in the clinical area. Supports and/or participates in clinical research programs in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Actively participates in the evaluation and ongoing adoption and utilization of the multiple electronic health record instances used in the programs amongst the clinical team including the nursing and provider teams. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Master's degree preferred Supervisory and/or management experience required. Prior Health System and regional management experience preferred 5 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required. AACCN - CCRN-E - Tele-critical Care certification preferred. AMSN - CAVRN - MedSurg Virtual Nurse certification Inpatient Telehealth experience, strongly preferred Affinity for the future of healthcare and the use of technology where standards and procedures will need to be created Comfortable in challenging the status quo and effectively leading people and programs though change Required Licensure/Certifications
