Maintenance Technician - 2nd or 3rd - $26/hr

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician on a contract-to-hire basis through the Steel Worker Union. With shifts available on both the second (3-11pm) and third (11pm-7am) shifts, we are looking for a total of 13 technicians. This role involves troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and executing timely repairs to ensure smooth operations. You will inspect machines, report issues to the maintenance supervisor, and assist in scheduling necessary repairs. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance on equipment as instructed and ensure completion of work instruction sheets. Safety is paramount; you will use proper PPE, maintain a safe work area, and have a fire extinguisher nearby.

Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs. Inspect machines and report issues to the maintenance supervisor. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and complete work instruction sheets. Respond to and resolve safety, production, or general plant maintenance issues. Respond to equipment calls, evaluate problems, and make necessary repairs. Ensure a safe working environment by wearing proper PPE and keeping the area free of combustibles.

Experience in plumbing, industrial maintenance, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance. Familiarity with 3-phase/480v systems. Participation in a schooling program (KSU Online) that offers raises.

Our main facility spans 3000 sq ft and employs 500 people, with operations running 7 days a week. Technicians typically work an average of 48 hours per week, with time-and-a-half pay on Saturdays and double time on Sundays. Based on your skill level during the interview, you will be appointed to a suitable facility. Dress code requires proper PPE to ensure safety.

The pay range for this position is $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
