Position Summary The Technician will be responsible for the control, operation, and routine maintenance of the biogas generation system, including: Parlor Water and Green Water pumps, valves, and controls at the dairies Piping, valves, and pumps within the Kolb Bioenergy facility Dry manure and Mensch feed systems Hydrolyzers Lagoon Digester Biogas flares Biogas feed compressor Guild biogas processing system Product gas compressor Thermal oxidizer Screw presses Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor biogas production and flare operations; analyze operations and make adjustments as needed to optimize performance Maintain process equipment: blowers, flares, instrumentation, and controls Troubleshoot deficient operations and recommend solutions Perform testing and analysis on Lagoon Digester performance Safely drive between multiple farms Follow all process safety requirements Develop and maintain relationships with other employees Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with company and safety requirements Other Duties and Responsibilities Promote a positive working environment to achieve organizational goals Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment Work is performed in a farm/processing operation environment Exposure to harsh conditions such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures is normal Must follow safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment Physical Demands Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, and drive a vehicle for up to 40% of the day Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs regularly and push/pull 50 lbs or more regularly Ability to reach overhead from elevated platforms or uneven surfaces Stand/walk 50% of the time on uneven surfaces, sit 40%, and climb 10% Must pass a limited physical and respirator fit test and be able to wear a respirator for up to 1 hour when necessary Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience High school diploma or GED required Ability to interpret data and perform process adjustments to optimize performance Troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls Knowledge of PLC controls/communication preferred Knowledge of industrial engines and compressors preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based programs Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record Must be at least 21 years old Must comply with Roeslein's core values for safe and efficient operations and maintain positive relationships with employees
