About the Role The Maintenance Supervisor ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, Food Safety Standards, and CAL/OSHA Safety Regulations. This role is responsible for continuous improvement efforts, preventative maintenance, and addressing day-to-day mechanical needs to support ongoing operations. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the mechanics and the Maintenance Coordinator, including their responsibilities and any necessary disciplinary actions. This position plays a key leadership role in all maintenance-related projects to ensure alignment with departmental expectations. Status: Exempt, Full-time Schedule: Monday – Friday, with weekends and holidays as needed Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Work Hours: Minimum 8 hours/day, with mandatory overtime as required Key Responsibilities Enforce all Safety, Allergen Control, Food Safety and Sanitation, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures Oversee facility equipment including chillers, wastewater systems, HVAC, and electrical systems Ensure all plant equipment is operational and OSHA compliant (e.g., mixers, packaging machines, pumps, valves) Collaborate with site leadership on customer complaints requiring mechanical insight Maintain and manage the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Lead and improve the Preventive Maintenance program Sustain and update maintenance training and development programs Track and improve key maintenance metrics (e.g., asset utilization, PM compliance, downtime) Oversee shop cleanup, equipment repairs, and spare parts inventory Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Hire, train, and mentor maintenance team members Manage schedules and workloads for the Maintenance Coordinator and Mechanics Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations Administer employee discipline in accordance with company policy Work Environment PPE Required: Hair/beard net, gloves, safety shoes, bump cap, smocks Exposure: Cleaning chemicals, food allergens Temperature: Refrigerated environment (approx. 37°F) Qualifications Minimum 5 years of related experience in food manufacturing 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred Technical certifications and PLC knowledge preferred Familiarity with mechanical, safety, and food safety standards HACCP Certification preferred Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate across departments and build consensus Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays Ability to maintain a safe and positive work environment Physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, twisting, standing, etc.) Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental (PPO only) Up to 4% 401(k) company match Company-paid life insurance Vacation and Sick Pay 7 Paid Holidays Birthday off with pay E-Verify Compliant Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
