*ABOUT US:*
Our busy multi-state real estate, eviction, foreclosure and bankruptcy law firm seeks to hire a Legal Assistant. We represent secured creditors, banks, lenders, investors and foreclosure trustees, in both transactional, litigation and bankruptcy matters. We are a growing firm and are looking for someone who is career oriented and ready to grow with our firm. This position is in our North Miami Beach, Florida office and the position is hybrid.
*KEY JOB DUTIES:*
The Litigation Legal Assistant is primarily responsible for administrative and substantive legal support to our attorneys but not limited to: filing documents with various courts throughout Florida, responding to client inquiries, internal and client system updates, preparation and compilation of discovery, draft motions, trial preparation and administrative tasks as assigned.
* Assist with contested files for multiple attorneys * Managing Case Files and Documents: Organizing and maintaining case files, including ensuring accurate filing and easy accessibility of all relevant documents. * Drafting and Proofreading Documents: Preparing and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. * Conducting Legal Research: Assisting attorneys by researching relevant case law, statutes, and regulations. * Responses to discovery and meeting deadlines * Trial Preparation * Communication & Coordination: Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, and coordinating schedules and appointments. * Administrative Tasks: Handling administrative tasks like managing calendars, , providing client updates, and maintaining case management system.
*Qualifications:*
* Organizational skills: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines. * Communication skills: Clear and effective written and verbal communication, as well as active listening and strong interpersonal skills. * Legal terminology and procedure knowledge: Understanding legal terms, documents, and court processes. * Critical thinking: Ability to analyze information, identify key issues, and develop solutions. * Law firm experience e-filing in Florida * General understanding of the litigation process * Microsoft Excel, Word and CaseAware preferred and Outlook experience * Detail oriented with attention to accuracy * Competent in organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization, while maintaining confidentiality * Strong work ethic with the ability to balance and prioritize high volume workload
