Summary
We have a Teacher position available at the NEO Children’s Rehabilitation Center/Kids Garden Daycare.This full-time position entails lead teaching in one of our beautiful preschool classrooms, independently writing and implementing lesson plans.Classroom work experience a must, CDA or degree preferred.We offer competitive pay and our benefits include paid time off – and you don’t work nights or weekends!
Duties
Position Summary:The Kids Garden TEACHER assumes responsibility for the care and education of an assigned group of children.The Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum, guiding children’s behavior, assessing children’s progress, communicating with parents, and providing an engaging, healthy, and safe learning environment. The Full Time Teacher shares the same responsibilities as a Part-Time teacher; the delineation of status is simply a reference to number of hours worked.
TEACHER Duties:
1.Independent awareness of and adherence to Children’s Rehabilitation Center Policy.
2. Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance, per Children’s Rehabilitation Center Policies.
3. Remain available to work, and demonstrate both willingness and ability to work, varied hours between the program hours of 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM, as assigned by Center Administration.
4.Independently develop, draft, document, submit and implement weekly written lesson plans.
5.Independently Implement the Center’s chosen curriculum and corresponding lesson plans that meet the needs of individual children.
6.Independently plan and implement hands-on activities that develop positive self-esteem, social skills and culturally diverse experiences.
7.Establish and maintain a safe, orderly and healthy environment by designing an appropriate room arrangement to promote play, exploration and learning.
8.Independently maintain anecdotal notes (informal assessment) on each child in the assigned group on an ongoing basis.
9.Formally assess children’s needs and developmental progress two times per year and use results to drive lesson planning.
10.Establish positive and productive relationships with families, including, but not limited to, communication via progress reports and parent conferences.
11.Use and promote positive guidance techniques.
12.Engage in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills.
13. Independently complete assigned duties in a timely manner, per Center Policy.
14.Attend staff meetings and in-service training provided by the center and those required by licensing agencies.
15.Assist children with personal care, including but not limited to diaper changing and restroom assistance, no matter what the age, when needed.
16. Assist children with both meal and beverage presentation and supervision of any consumption, at scheduled snack times, lunchtimes and at any other time.
17.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
TEACHER - Minimum Qualifications:
Education – Eligible for and/or holds minimum of Ohio Child Development Associate (“CDA”) credential, but ideally an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, in early childhood education or related field. Minimum of CDA may be required (within a certain timeframe depending on course availability) of prospective / successful candidates in order for our program to maintain ODJFS Step Up to Quality rating.
Experience - Demonstrated employment experience related to the above-noted duties.
Background Check – clean FBI BCI background check prior to starting work.
Transportation – daily access to his or her own vehicle for work-related travel and maintained, uninterrupted automobile insurance.
