Job Title: Lead Personal Support Staff
Reports to: PA and CHOICES Managing Director
Department: Personal Support
Job Purpose: The Lead Personal Support Staff will coordinate person-centered supports to the people in services by leading a team of a personal support staff to deliver excellent customer service and person-centered supports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the provision of quality services to members by ensuring prompt implementation of services and effective tracking of their progress.
Contribute meaningful insight into a person’s current needs and past progress in regular intervals such as their Service Implementation Plan (SIP) review.
Make sure person- centered services are being implemented according to how the person wants by properly and regularly training staff on that member’s Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP) and SIP.
Monitor the provision of quality supports to people by auditing weekly notes for each member.
Closely track the performance of staff members to ensure they receive all necessary on-the-job training, annual trainings, and any additional professional development that could improve how they provide supports to people or perform required job functions.
Ensure the continuity of services to people by participating in a 24 hour on-call rotation, finding necessary staff to fill-in and following up promptly with families if there is a delay or lapse in services.
Maintains a professional relationship with family members and/or guardians in order to keep the person’s preferences and best interests as a priority at all times.
Contributes to the continuity of services for people by participating in the interviewing and hiring of new staff, and at times, the recruitment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School pr G.E.D required
Willingness to put the lives of others at the forefront of all job duties in order to model interpersonal sensitivity, awareness of others and exemplary customer service.
Ability to coordinate services for numerous people at time using a high degree of organization and problem-solving skills. (This will also require extensive computer skills).
Understand that in order to deliver quality services and effective leader will inspire teammates to perform their jobs with passion, not just manage job duties.
Ensure the safety of people in services by maintaining automobile insurance and a valid driver’s license.
Experience in not-for-profit setting preferred; clinical experience very helpful.
Must be flexible, reliable, and dependable and embrace change.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Working Conditions:
Duties are normally performed in a member-centered environment; member home or the community.
Occasionally in an office environment.
Must be willing to travel in the Shelby County area.
Physical Requirements:
May require some lifting with assistance.
Ability to handle a flexible work schedule.
Regularly required to physically operate routine office equipment such as telephones, computers, etc.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Hourly Pay: $16.00
