Description
We are looking for a dependable Warehouse Janitor in West Branch to help maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the facility meets safety and cleanliness standards for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to manage tasks independently, and contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities: Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and vacuum warehouse floors, including high-traffic areas, aisles, and storage areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas.
Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replacing liners as needed.
Clean windows, doors, and glass panels throughout the facility.
Remove any debris or spills on the floor promptly to maintain safety standards.
Clean and maintain the warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and loading docks.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as light switches, handrails, and door handles.
Ensure the cleanliness of the warehouse entrance and parking areas. Safety & Facility Upkeep: Maintain clear walkways and emergency exits, ensuring they are free of obstructions.
Regularly inspect the facility for safety hazards, such as spills or improperly stored items, and address them promptly.
Assist with the removal of hazardous materials or cleaning up after spills in accordance with safety regulations (e.g., oil, chemicals).
Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored and used properly, following OSHA and safety protocols. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, ensuring an adequate stock of all necessary materials.
Report any inventory shortages or damaged equipment to the Warehouse Manager. General Warehouse Cleanliness: Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks (e.g., cleaning warehouse ceiling fans, lighting, or hard-to-reach areas).
Maintain cleanliness in storage areas and ensure items are organized and properly stored.
Perform basic repairs such as replacing light bulbs or cleaning vents. Teamwork & Communication: Work closely with warehouse supervisors and staff to address specific cleaning needs.
Respond to requests from warehouse employees for additional cleaning or support.
Maintain open communication with management regarding any facility maintenance issues or improvement needs. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous janitorial or cleaning experience, preferably in a warehouse, factory, or industrial environment.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
Knowledge of general safety standards, especially in a warehouse setting.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions without direct supervision.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 pounds] and perform physical tasks (bending, lifting, climbing).
Flexibility in working hours as cleaning needs may arise during or after warehouse operations.
