The Tampa office of Baumann, Gant, Keeley & Biondi ("BGKB") is seeking paralegals preferably with experience working in a civil litigation law firm. We are an extremely busy defense firm focusing on construction defect, personal injury, product liability, trucking and wrongful death cases. The position offered is an in office, full time role working in a 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 attorney/paralegal team. Office located in Downtown Tampa with employer paid parking. Paralegal Job Responsibilities:
A paralegal supports attorneys by assembling and organizing information for legal documents; researching law; assembling case materials; writing reports, medical summaries and memoranda and maintaining calendars, and scheduling for attorneys.
Paralegal Job Duties:
Prepares legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including complaints, declarations, discovery requests, responses, and other pleadings.
Research laws, statutes, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning to assist in drafting motions and memoranda.
Assembles case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
Prepares discovery requests and responses through personal interaction with clients to formulate responses.
Prepares for trial by preparing exhibits, subpoenas, evidence, and motions.
Maintains calendar by entering and updating requirements, court dates, and scheduling meetings.
Protects law firm's reputation by keeping client information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities; reading legal publications; maintaining personal networks.
