Salary: 38k-42k Exempt BOE : Pizzo Native Plant Nursery is seeking candidates to join our team as an inside sales representative. The position will assist the Pizzo Nursery team in our mission to build ecologically balanced communities through education, promotion, cultivation and trade of top-quality native plants. This role requires sales experience and a desire to sell native plants to all wholesale markets. We are continuing to expand and there is great growth potential with this position as well as a competitive salary and strong benefit package. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide support for the Sales Manager and clients while communicating with Nursery Operations. Direct, open, and respectful communication is critical in the success of this role and in the Nursery Team. Anticipating customer needs and exceeding expectations is the hallmark of an exceptional customer experience.
Customer Service Manage incoming calls on nursery main line and redirect non-sales calls to appropriate contacts. Create new customer accounts and help qualify new leads. Create and send quotes in a timely manner Create, manage, and process orders submitted by email, phone, and website. Manage seed mix purchasing, pricing, quoting, and shipping Provide expert advice and guidance on plant selection. Assist customers with questions or technical difficulties on online platform. Notify customers on USDA phytosanitary requirements based on ship to. Help resolve customer issues that arise involving quality, shipping, availability, etc. Assist with credit application, tax forms, W9s. Manage brokers and commission tracking. Welcome and assist customers picking up orders at nursery.
Sales Build relationships with customers by attending conferences, tradeshows, events, and phone calls. Engage in discovery, up-selling, and cross-selling opportunities when communicating with clients. Assist in managing sales funnel by regularly following up with clients regarding bids and quotes. Align with Sales manager on goals, strategies, and targets Engage in continuing education and cultivate a learning mindset Assist with new data entry in SBI. Stay up to date on industry and market trends. Periodically discuss product and service expectations ofcustomers with manager. Assist with running sales reports as needed. Manage list of partners, retailers, and assist with vendor relationships as needed.
Cross-functional Communication Engage in open communication between Nursery Operations team, Sales Manager, and clients. Work with Inventory and Grow team regarding plant quality and customer needs, occasionally sending pictures of current plant growth. Work with customers and inventory when we cannot fulfill orders. Work with Nursery Manager to manage contract grows, communicate large orders, and deliver customer feedback regarding quality or shipping issues. Discussing any crop issues with theTeam.
Qualifications: Associate degree in Horticulturewith thorough knowledge of Native Plant communities. Strong technical skills in MS Office and the ability to learn new software systems quickly. A minimum of 2 years experience of customer service.
Ability to multitask and proactively solve problems within scope of the position Ability to professionally communicate by email, phone, and in-person, with customers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet department goals.
