Quad, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry is seeking a Commingle Mechanic -to work in our rapidly expanding East Coast Digital Print and Commingling Supercenter in Westampton, NJ. Pay range is $24.80 - $37.20

This position is responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance work in a fast-paced environment-- including repair, inspection, modification, and improvement of Letter Sorter equipment. The -Commingle Mechanic plays an essential role in helping the plant provide high quality product and efficient service to our customers by minimizing operational downtime. Full-time positions are available on the following shifts: B shift - Monday - Friday and every other Saturday 3 PM - 11 PM. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Train and assist operators in set up and troubleshooting operator problems;

* Train Workers in operational techniques and operational adjustments;

* Observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repair;

* Study sketches, machine specifications or parts to determine type and dimensions of parts needed;

* Maintain inventory of parts and request part orders when limits are reached;

* Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts;

* Replace defective part with new part or repair part needed;

* Assemble and test machine to verify correction of malfunction;

* Maintain machine by following PM schedule;

* Communicate any foreseeable production problems (material or mechanical in nature);

* Comply with all quality, safety rules, and regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures;

* Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

* Prior mechanical experience and/or training; -

* Problem solving/Troubleshooting is a plus;

* Ability to move about to inspect/repair machines including climbing, bending, and squatting in tight areas are also required;

* Basic computer skills are required;

* Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently. -

* Prior printing industry experience or manufacturing experience (such as laborer, assembly, or distribution), experience in Direct Mail preferred.
