Pay Rate: $30$35/hr (DOE) Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM 10:00 PM Join a Respected, Growing Food Manufacturer with a Fresh Vision Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician with a passion for ensuring equipment operates at peak performance? We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our dynamic food manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL . In this hands-on role, youll ensure that production equipment runs efficiently and safely, contributing to the output of high-quality products enjoyed nationwide. What Youll Do Working independently and collaboratively, you'll handle the mechanical and electrical maintenance of a wide range of processing and packaging machinery: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical components including PLCs, motors, servo systems, VFDs, and control panels.
Perform installation, calibration, and modifications of electrical and electronic equipment.
Inspect, overhaul, and repair systems involving pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum components.
Conduct light metal fabrication, welding, grinding, drilling, and other basic machine shop functions.
Execute facility maintenance including electrical repairs, control circuits, and fixture alterations.
Use diagnostic tools (volt-ohm-amp meters, etc.) to assess and resolve issues quickly.
Follow work order procedures and ensure timely documentation of maintenance activities.
Maintain spare parts inventory and requisition necessary materials.
Provide training and support to production staff and junior maintenance technicians.
What You Bring to the Team Were looking for someone whos not just technically skilled, but also collaborative, safety-conscious, and solutions-driven. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a technical certification or apprenticeship program preferred.
Minimum 34 years of industrial maintenance experience; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
Skills & Competencies: Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Able to perform hands-on machining and fabrication work.
Skilled in equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable training team members and sharing technical knowledge.
