Position Summary: Inspect hotel rooms and public areas to ensure cleaning meets FDI standards. Duties: Set positive and professional example for other employees regarding appearance, enthusiasm, attitude, attendance and performance Provide training and leadership to housekeeping employees regarding performance and company cleaning standards Assist with leading employees regarding work requirements and adherence to work schedules, policies and procedures Assist with organizing and dispatching employees to rooms in a timely manner Support employees with supplies and additional help as needed Report employee conflicts and/or concerns to Supervisor/Manager Inspect hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel to ensure cleanliness meets FDI standards Pre-strip rooms of dirty linens Remove from rooms, and properly dispose of any items containing alcohol Communicate with other hotel employees and managers as needed to meet guest’s needs and maintain smooth operation of hotel functions Participate in department and hotel meetings Assist with Housekeeper and Laundry Attendant duties as needed Operate company vehicle (at Wedgewood property only) Transport employees and supplies in vans around the resort property (at Wedgewood property only) Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people, and hotel and guest property Report damage, theft, and found articles to management All other duties as assigned Position Requirements Education, Knowledge and Skills: Valid Alaska Driver’s License required (at Wedgewood property only) Driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards required (at Wedgewood property only) 1 year Housekeeping experience required Previous Inspecting experience preferred Previous leadership experience preferred Strong customer service skills and knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction Strong oral communication skills, to include effectively, positively and professionally conveying information with others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times Able to complete tasks in a timely manner Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs., including up and down stairs Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, to include, but not limited to, sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, tugging, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing and descending stairs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for a hotel/resort and office environment with or without correction.
