Lakes at Lutz Rehabilitation Center - Housekeeping / Laundry Aide
OVERVIEW:
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean and odor free atmosphere in all
public areas and resident accommodations, and is responsible for maintaining a clean, odor free, and
safe environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for cleaning resident rooms and bathrooms
Responsible for cleaning the spa area.
Responsible for cleaning the clean and the soiled utility rooms.
Responsible for cleaning the clean storage room.
Responsible for cleaning the clean linen room.
Report any needed repairs to Supervisor.
Make suggestions for changes in procedure and/or equipment to maintain high standards and
safe working conditions.
Performs laundry Duties.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Delivers soiled linens to laundry; sorts, washes, dries, folds and returns clean linens to l linen
closets and resident rooms.
Cleans laundry room, sort soiled linen tubs.
Maintains clean atmosphere throughout the facility.
Cleans and makes resident beds.
Cleans resident rooms and apartments, including bathroom and resident items (wheelchair,
commode, etc....)
Maintains adequate supplies such as bathroom tissue, paper towels, and hand soap.
Changes room divider curtains and window draperies as needed.
Maintains clean atmosphere in all public areas, including dining room, dayrooms, break room,
public bathrooms, etc.
Dusts and wet mops all corridors.
Removes trash from all areas.
Reports any needed repairs to supervisor.
Checks supplies and inventory and informs supervisor when low.
Inspects and coordinates cleaning procedures and/or equipment to maintain high standards and
safe working conditions.
Makes suggestion for changes in procedures and/or equipment to maintain high standards and
safe working conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Long-term care or housekeeping experience preferred.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations
around the care center.
Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in
working environment.
Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Must be able to stay or return to facility during emergency conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This position is very active and requires walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and
climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
