Graduate Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Education

Job Description
The Graduate and Online Programs division at Huntington University has an opening for an adjunct faculty member. This adjunct faculty member will teach graduate online courses in the Early Childhood Education Certificate and Master of Education program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others
- Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ
- Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity with online teaching, preferred
- PhD or EdD preferred; Master’s degree required
- Early childhood (birth to eight years) classroom teaching experience required
- Holds current teaching license required; licensure in area of Early Childhood preferred
- Positive teacher mentor for participants
- Excellent communications skills
- Commitment to continuous process improvement
- Self-motivated, independent worker who can also collaborate well
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver content of courses via Moodle and Zoom
- Manage online participant engagement in weekly tasks, assignments, etc.
- Use diverse instructional strategies to engage with participants online (e.g. discussion forums, collaborative tools like Padlet, case studies, etc.)
- Incorporate personal experience, best practices, current research, and professional guidelines from organizations like NAEYC into course implementation
- Offer timely and constructive feedback on assignments and tasks
- Foster a supportive online community through regular communication and engagement
- Assess student performance using rubrics and other evaluation tools
- Monitor student progress and intervene when necessary to support academic success
- Submit grades and other required documentation in a timely manner
- Participate in faculty orientation and regular virtual meetings with Associate Director of Teacher Education – Graduate Programs
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies, FERPA, and academic integrity standards.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time, exempt adjunct position.
