Engineering Lab Technician
Location: Greenville, Michigan Reports to: Lab Manager
Middleby Refrigeration is seeking a motivated and dedicated Engineering Lab Technician to join our team in Greenville, MI. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the development and testing of our cutting-edge refrigeration products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and efficiency.
As an Engineering Lab Technician, you'll play a critical role in supporting our engineering and product development teams. You will be responsible for setting up and conducting tests, analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory equipment to facilitate groundbreaking innovations in refrigeration technology.

Position Overview : Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Engineering Lab Technician is responsible for supporting product development and testing initiatives by conducting experiments, analyzing results, and maintaining lab equipment. This role ensures all testing and data collection is carried out accurately and efficiently in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. The Engineering Lab Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and performance through thorough testing and documentation. Key responsibilities include preparing and executing tests for materials and components, recording and analyzing test results, maintaining laboratory tools and equipment, and adhering to all safety protocols. The role also involves collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to support research, development, and continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities: Refrigeration system design, build-up, and qualification testing as required to support new product development initiatives and mature product maintenance. Prototype cabinet fabrication using Model Shop and equipment as required to support product development projects. Maintenance of Lab test chambers, computer data acquisition system, and Model Shop equipment. Assist with Lab test equipment calibration per schedule. Participate in agency audits with other lab staff of products and test facilities. Provide manufacturing support as required for product assembly, work instructions, operator training, and on-line safety / performance testing. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Associates degree in HVAC is a plus. Trade school certification in carpentry, construction, or related field (preferred but not required). Team Player: the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Carpentry skills. You will play a key role in assembling, constructing, and installing custom fixtures for our products. Experience with Finishing: Experience with painting, staining, or finishing fixtures to meet aesthetic requirements. Familiarity with refrigeration product test procedures and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic and testing equipment Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Very hands on and Mechanically inclined. This hands-on position requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of construction techniques, and the ability to work with a variety of materials such as wood, metal, plastics, and glass. Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively. Must be able to assist with refrigeration product energy certification, energy listings, and compliance testing with all domestic and international safety agency and regulatory requirements. Experience with computer automated data acquisition systems a plus. Fluent with use of MS Excel, Word, and Power Point. Ability to work shifts and hours mandated by management. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Requirements: Qualifications:
