A mid-sized publicly traded company in North Texas is seeking an experienced and highly skilled General Counsel to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal guidance and support across various areas of law, including contract law and employment law. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts. The General Counsel will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while also protecting the organization's interests. Responsibilities Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues. Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents to safeguard the organization's interests. Represent the organization in legal proceedings and negotiations as necessary. Collaborate with various departments to identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact the organization's operations. Manage relationships with external counsel when necessary. Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s). Strong research skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly. Prior experience working in a corporate environment is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
