Role Overview As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the planning and delivery of patient care. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient needs in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams. You will also communicate vital information regarding patient conditions to healthcare professionals and participate in planning for successful patient discharges. Key Responsibilities Provide safe and effective nursing care, adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Evaluate and direct nursing care for patients, ensuring high standards are maintained. Delegate tasks based on patient needs, staff capabilities, and patient safety. Document assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately in the patient medical records. Conduct pain assessments and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management. Adjust care plans based on patient responses and contribute to daily evaluations. Administer medications safely, following the five rights of medication administration. Develop teaching plans tailored to patient and family learning needs. Assist physicians in examinations and procedures, performing tasks within your licensure scope. Ensure all care is patient-centered and culturally sensitive. Participate in shift reporting, ensuring compliance with documentation and medication controls. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align on patient needs and enhance care delivery. Assist in training and orienting new staff. Manage medical equipment safely and properly. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing, or a nursing diploma from an accredited program. Licenses/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure for the state, Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Experience: A minimum of six months of medical/surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
