Summary: Emerald Nursing & Rehab Lancaster is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting the health and comfort of seniors in a long-term care setting. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, dining areas, hallways, and staff workspaces.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, and equipment according to infection control and facility protocols.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces frequently throughout the day to reduce the spread of infection (e.g., doorknobs, handrails, elevator buttons).
Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other hygiene supplies in restrooms and resident areas.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and usage of cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and facility training.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets and supply carts.
Remove and dispose of general and biohazard waste safely, following standard precautions and infection prevention guidelines.
Assist in deep cleaning routines for rooms after resident discharge or transfer, including bed frames, walls, and curtains.
Monitor and report pest control concerns, water leaks, mold, or other environmental hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Communicate effectively with nursing and maintenance teams regarding special cleaning needs or urgent issues.
Participate in fire safety, emergency, and infection control drills and procedures as required.
Provide respectful and courteous service to residents, always maintaining privacy and dignity.
Support the facility’s mission of providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for long-term care residents.
Adhere to daily work schedules and complete required housekeeping logs or checklists
