Position Overview:
Hays Electrical Services is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Financial Analyst to support large-scale multifamily and high-rise electrical construction projects across the nation. You will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate and timely financial forecasts, financial modeling, budgets, and performance reports in collaboration with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
This role reports directly to the VP, FP&A and will assist with financial modeling, budgeting and planning, and due diligence for potential acquisitions. You will be responsible for creating reporting metrics and KPIs for various business units, and present monthly and quarterly reports to business unit leaders and executive leadership.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal statements and financial reports: accumulate data, analyze income, cash flows and margin statements, research and write concise and accurate explanations of variances and changes, prepare associated supporting documents
- Prepares analyses, reports and data requests for Director of FP&A/M&A, internal departments, governmental agencies, and external entities
- Design, complete, and maintain spreadsheets and databases necessary for assigned duties
- Assists in the maintenance, enhancement, and implementation of accounting and financial application software
- Preparing review recommendations and creating and modifying current procedures and policies
- Work with the land department for preparation, analysis and validation of proformas on new community opportunities
- Extensive interaction with Region, Corporate & field to assist them with questions and procedures
- Analyze statistical data for consistency with financial data
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as needed and/or assigned
- Assist in the development of financial analysis and evaluation support for M&A activities
- Assist in the development of financial models forecasting future business results
- Prepare quarterly KPI Reports with narrative support for Executive Leadership Team
- Work with Director of FP&A/M&A to develop stronger performance metrics and trends
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience specifically in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related field, with experience working in a deadline-driven environment, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience in Revenue Recognition Accounting
- Experience with Sage Intacct or Vista Viewpoint, Procore, and Datarails
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Familiarity with month-end close support, accrual analysis, and KPI tracking
- Experience using financial planning, databases, spreadsheets, accounting software systems, and PowerBI
- Expertise in Microsoft Office software applications, specifically Excel
- Strong understanding of financial principles and analysis techniques, including cash flow, profit margins, and variance analysis
- Familiarity with GAAP and financial statement interpretation
- Strong business acumen and experience collaborating with senior leaders in a high growth, process-oriented business setting
- Strong independent problem-solving skills and high detail and process orientation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence without micromanaging.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
