And now is where you come in.
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to be responsible for building, terminating, splicing, and documenting fiber optic cables, as well as maintaining installations, disconnects, reconnects, upgrades, and repairs of RTA telephone and high-speed internet service products, providing smooth and efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients. As the Field Service Technician, you will be expected to climb radio towers up to 500' but average around 100' to 250' and install rigging systems, antennas, radios, coax, fiber optic cable, and AC/DC power trunks.
You will be the face of RTA servicing in the field as the front-line representative and a key member of our service-oriented team.
To be successful, you should have:
· High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred; post-high school education a plus
· Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record by the Company’s Motor Vehicle Policy
· Excellent customer service, time management, and decision-making skills
· Working knowledge of PC and MS Office products
· Comtrain certification is a plus
· Bilingual in English/Spanish, a plus
· Self-motivated; ability to work independently with limited supervision to complete tasks, respond to department requests, collaborate with others to utilize resources, and apply knowledge to identify quality solutions
· Ability to interact and communicate appropriate information to customers and team members in a professional manner
· Ability to effectively maintain professional appearance and demeanor in a variety of work environments
· Ability to read and interpret technical information, such as repair manuals, parts books, etc.
· Basic understanding of electronics, connectivity concepts
· Ability to work required shifts and overtime (as necessary)
· Ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography
You’ll have an advantage if you have:
· History of living and working in rural America.
· Membership in service organizations (i.e., Kiwanis, Rotary, Optimists, Moose, Elks, Jr. Chamber, etc.)
· Background in selling intangible products and services.
· Passionate about serving the unserved or underserved.
· Track record of participation in area events/festivals/venues.
· Interest in motorsports. We like speed and teamwork.
