Position Summary: The ( Field) Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Delta T Systems equipment at customer sites. In addition to on-site service, the technician will provide remote support by responding to service calls, assisting customers through technical issues over the phone, guiding step-by-step troubleshooting, and delivering after-hours emergency assistance as needed. This role demands regular travel, strong technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to ensure optimal system performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. The company will provide extensive on-the-job training, as outlined below: 6 to 9 months building TCU and chillers in shop, followed by training on testing each type of equipment. Next 6 months fielding customer service calls and troubleshooting over the phone. Traveling to customer site along with Technical Service Manager. Job Responsibilities: Perform on-site installation and commissioning of Delta T Systems chillers and temperature control units. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components in the field. Provide remote technical support and walk-throughs to customers as needed. Accurately document service activities, diagnostics, and resolutions in company systems. Communicate effectively with customers, internal engineering, and support staff to resolve issues. Train customers in proper system operation and basic maintenance procedures. Maintain company tools and adhere to safety protocols. Travel to customer sites across the U.S. (25% to 50% travel depending on workload and schedule).
Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance on industrial equipment in particular: Industrial electrical systems, VFDs, high voltage, low voltage, wiring diagrams, experience reading electrical schematics and familiarity with PLCs, PID temperature controllers (e.g., Carel, Omron), control panels. Industrial process or HVAC refrigeration. Ability to read mechanical blueprints and excellent ability to work with any hand tool.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work independently and travel with short notice. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
