Summary

Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse in Belleville, WI is looking for experienced full-time lead teachers. The wage information noted below reflects the rate for candidates with previous lead teacher early childhood experience. Employees work a 9 hour shift with a one-hour lunch break, Monday through Friday. Potential teacher candidates must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Lead teachers will implement a quality educational program and develop positive relationships with the children and their families. Teachers are responsible for creating developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs. OUATS uses the Creative Curriculum, Pyramid Model and Nurtured Heart programs.

Duties

Create and implement lesson plans and encourage participation by children. Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports. Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center. Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Requirements

Lead Teacher qualifications through the Registry 2+ years experience as a lead teacher in early childhood education Strong attendance record. High energy. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. An understanding of child development. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

About Us

Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse is located in Belleville, WI approximately 15 minutes from Verona and 30 minutes from Monroe. We are located in the old Belleville Elementary School. We serve infants through school-aged children. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We create and implement our lesson plans using Creative Curriculum. We use positive guidance and follow the Pyramid Model framework and Nurtured Heart Approach. Each classroom receives 2 hours of lesson planning time each week, additional conference planning time in preparation for parent/teacher conferences, and other incentives throughout the year.
