The company values accuracy, collaboration, and technical expertise. This Estimator role is ideal for someone with a passion for precision and the ability to work across multiple project phases. The Role: The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for civil construction projects ranging from $500K to $10M. Reporting to senior leadership, the Estimator works closely with project managers and engineering teams to assess project feasibility, identify risks, and deliver competitive bids. Success in this role is measured by the accuracy of estimates, risk assessment capabilities, and contribution to winning bids. Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates for self-performed work including labor, equipment, and materials.
Review and interpret conceptual, schematic, and detailed project drawings.
Analyze construction risks and incorporate findings into estimates.
Identify constructability issues and value-engineering opportunities.
Utilize takeoff/modeling software (Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, CAD) effectively.
Use tools like Excel, Word, Adobe; familiarity with HCSS or B2W is a plus.
Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate scope, quantities, and pricing.
Travel to job sites in SC, NC, and GA may be required.
Requirements: Minimum 2 years of experience in civil construction estimating.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience with grading, utilities, and general site work projects.
Strong knowledge of construction assemblies and project phases.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe, and takeoff software.
Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and work an 8-hour shift.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year. Location: Primarily office-based in South Carolina with occasional travel across SC, NC, and GA. Benefits: 401(k)
