Energy Efficiency Consultant Utility Programs And Services Location: R.I., NH, Massachusetts Preferred (Remote Home Office with Quarterly Local Travel) Ready to make a difference? We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Energy Efficiency Consultant to join our Northeast Energy Efficiency team, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and success of Massachusetts-based energy efficiency initiatives. This position is part of the Mass Save Residential New Construction Program, a nationally recognized collaborative that delivers cost-effective energy solutions to residents and businesses across the Commonwealth. In this role, you will provide critical program support and technical expertise for the Mass Save Residential New Construction Program, which focuses on delivering technical services and decarbonization incentives to developers of residential projects. You will work closely with builders, developers and consultants to ensure high-quality service delivery, compliance with program standards, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in energy efficiency, building science, or construction management, along with excellent communication and project coordination skills. Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to architects, engineers, contractors, and other trade allies participating in utility-sponsored new construction programs. Must be able to effectively communicate to both technical trade allies and non-technical audiences. Build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the building design and construction industry including builders, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, energy raters, municipal officials and customers. Maintain strong ongoing communications with participating contractors and consultants to facilitate their enrollment in the program and to encourage future participation. Perform desktop Quality Assurance / Quality Control to review and verify energy model accuracy and adherence to program standards, utilizing data collected during site visits and/or project building plans. Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns. Conduct trade ally outreach, recruitment and training as needed. Assess commercial grade whole building efficiency strategies, building plans and specifications, and make recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades or improvements. Maintain account records in a CRM tool and prepare status reports to monitor progress towards program goals and the completion of eligible projects. Assist in the coordination of weekly team meetings to review project forecasting pipelines, prepare client deliverables, and track meeting minutes. Attend events to build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the home improvement industry including architects, engineers, contractors, energy raters, consultants, home inspectors, public officials, public interest groups, and customers. Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 5% to 10% of the time (Quarterly). (Reimbursement for mileage provided) What we need you to have (minimum qualifications): Bachelor's degree in (Architecture, Energy, Building Science, Construction Management or related subjects) (Candidates can substitute one year of experience for each year of education) 2+ years of experience in residential or commercial energy efficiency What we would like you to have: Ability to read and interpret controlled construction documents highly preferred Experience with energy modeling platforms, such as OpenStudio with EnergyPlus, Passive House, eQUEST, and/or IES HERS, BPI, LEED, or Passive House credentials Working on successful energy efficiency programs, with specific expertise in energy modeling, energy efficiency technologies and products, and commercial energy issues in both existing buildings and new construction Building and maintaining relationships with key market actors in the commercial construction industry including architects, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, home energy rating specialists, developers, and public officials Commercial construction industry in Massachusetts or experience working with commercial construction at a utility, public agency or non-governmental organization Knowledge of building science principles and/or construction building codes Working at ICF ICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, but we're not your typical consultants.
