Status: Full Time Shift: 7pm to 7am Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established protocols and physician orders, all while fostering a supportive environment for patients and their families. Essential Functions: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies and nursing standards. Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings, notifying the care team of any significant changes. Provide age-appropriate care and education, understanding the human growth and development spectrum. Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and document accordingly. Assist physicians during procedures, staying within your documented competencies. Work collaboratively to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Respond to medical emergencies and engage in life-saving interventions as necessary. Advocate for patients’ rights and ensure their needs are prioritized in care delivery. Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care. Implement infection control measures to uphold a safe healthcare environment. Monitor and operate medical equipment to ensure patient safety. Promote safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean environment. Participate in audits and compliance checks to follow standards of practice. Document patient care effectively and in a timely manner. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your clinical skills. Contribute to performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. Emergency Services RN Responsibilities: Rapidly assess and triage patients to determine care priorities based on urgency. Perform emergency procedures, including intubation, wound care, and suturing. Stabilize patients through medication administration, IV initiation, and respiratory support. Other duties as assigned. Compliance with all policies and standards is required. Qualifications: 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or relevant student clinical rotations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of the nursing process and clinical practices. Proficient in performing patient assessments and communicating effectively. Skilled in administering medications and monitoring effects. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Detail-oriented with respect to documenting patient care. Knowledgeable about safety standards and infection control practices. Licenses and Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure or Compact State Licensure required. BCLS - Basic Life Support required. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred. PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred. Refer to facility or unit-specific guidelines for additional requirements.
