Position Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in South Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the electrical components and systems cost for HVAC projects, including plan takeoffs, cost analysis, vendor coordination, and proposal development. This role plays a critical part in our pre-construction and bidding processes for both commercial and residential HVAC installations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to prepare detailed electrical estimates for HVAC systems.
  • Perform material and labor takeoffs for electrical HVAC components.
  • Coordinate with HVAC engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and validate scope.
  • Solicit, review, and negotiate quotes from suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop and submit competitive, accurate, and timely bids and proposals.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases, historical cost data, and bid tracking logs.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce project costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and design review sessions as required.
  • Stay current with industry codes, local regulations, and HVAC electrical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HVAC electrical estimating or related role in construction.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and applicable codes.
  • Proficiency with estimating software or similar tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in South Florida construction market and knowledge of regional permitting and inspection requirements.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician (desirable but not required).
  • Familiarity with green building practices, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and LEED requirements.
