It oversees liquidity and funding operations, local-currency and risk-management transactions, and capital market advisory services. Within this structure, the Capital Market and Investment (CTM) department serves as the front office for market-facing treasury activities, managing cash, liquid assets, and funding operations across global hubs. CTM also leads strategic initiatives such as the IFC/WB Joint Capital Markets Program (J-CAP) and capital markets education and advisory programs that support local market development and financial resilience.CTM is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Business Advisor and Analyst to join the CTM team as an Extended Term Consultant (ETC). This role will serve as a subject matter expert and project lead for the implementation of the Murex platform, with a focus on back-office and accounting integration. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in treasury operations, financial accounting, and technology transformation, along with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, engage senior stakeholders, and deliver high-impact solutions that support IFC’s evolving treasury infrastructure.Primary ResponsibilitiesRepresent CTM and Treasury VPU in the Murex implementation project as Subject Matter Expert, especially in relation to back office and accounting streams and their integration with front-end processes and downstream report generation.Perform lead business analyst role to collaborate with different stakeholders while filling the knowledge gap for IFC staff in relation to Murex.Collaborate with portfolio managers and team members on Murex-related questions.Identify and drive the business process improvements from the current state of technology to the target platform and architecturePlan and provide training and demo sessions to build know-how within the institution.Oversee the testing phase of the project.Provide guidance during the build and implementation phase of the project to ensure the success of deliverables in a timely mannerProactively steer project meetings with business units, vendors, and other internal counterparts to ensure alignment of business objectives.Be the liaison between senior management and project stakeholders.Selection CriteriaMaster’s degree in a relevant discipline with extensive knowledge of treasury management and financial accounting (US GAAP) for commercial and investment banks.A minimum of 12 years of experience, including experience leading a treasury business, experience leading a team engaged in a Murex implementation (Murex 3 platform highly preferred), and experience leading a transition from a legacy system.Previous experience as a front-office consultant/stream lead with implementation.Ability to translate complex investment and trading business processes into project deliverables.Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, manage expectations, and lead an appropriate decision-making process.Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, Continuous Integration / Delivery tools & practices, and project management methodologies.Understanding of IFC Treasury’s core businesses and their links to IFC Operations.Understanding of all the instruments used by IFC Treasury to conduct its business, including accounting for such instruments.Experience working with other financial platforms such as Summit, Bloomberg, Markitwire, etc.WBG Culture AttributesSense of Urgency – Anticipating and quickly reacting to the needs of internal and external stakeholders.Thoughtful Risk Taking – Taking informed and thoughtful risks and making courageous decisions to push boundaries for greater impact.Empowerment and Accountability – Engaging with others in an empowered and accountable manner for impactful results.World Bank Group Core CompetenciesWe are proud to be an equal opportunity and inclusive employer with a dedicated and committed workforce, and do not discriminate based on gender, gender identity, religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability.Learn more about working at the World Bank and IFC , including our values and inspiring stories.Note: The selected candidate will be offered a one-year appointment, renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group, and subject to a lifetime maximum ET appointment of three years.
