Position Responsibilities: The Director of Protective Services and Financial Resources is responsible for the overall operations, administration and development of the AgeSpan programs to effectively address issues of older adult abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and self-neglect of elders in the community, in compliance with standards set by the Executive Office of Aging & Independence (AGE), Social Security and all other relevant guiding bodies.
Essential Functions:
Protective Services:
Manage all Protective Services program functions, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements of the AGE.
Provide clinical supervision for Protective Services Assistant Director and Financial Resources Manager
Conduct weekly group supervision meetings with PS Supervisors and Financial Resources manager, including individual case reviews for investigation and service planning, compliance with AGE regulations and addressing issues related to the overall functioning of the PS process
Conduct bi-weekly Protective Services Team meetings for educating staff regarding agency and AGE policies and staff culture development
Run APS reports as required by AGE and analyze Protective Services trends monthly report to ensure regulatory compliance and program efficiency, submit to AGE as required
Manage monthly Quality Audits of PS workers and Supervisors, addressing any individual performance issues identified through the audits
Collaborate with QA Manager to track trends and address any compliance or efficiency concerns monthly
Strategize and Implement plan to meet compliance requirements highlight by AGE bi-annual designation revie.
Participate in AGE monthly Protective Service Regional meetings
Collaborate with AGE and other Massachusetts Protective Services Programs to facilitate best practices and adherence to regulations.
Provide Protective Services trainings to community groups in accordance with AGE contract
Develop and enhance community visibility and rapport with service providers in the older adult channels, including Councils on Aging, housings, homeless shelters and community coalitions such as NS REACT and TRIAD
Participate in agency Senior Management meetings and high-risk meetings, representing the Protective Services and Financial risk management services as needed for consumers
Financial Resources:
Review processes for enhancement, such as debit card options and other programs as identified by Massachusetts Money Management Program Manager
Monitor and review Money Management audits
Participate in quarterly Money Management volunteer meetings and trainings
Develop strategies and activities for Money Management volunteer recruitment
Work with Community Programs to develop funding sources and opportunities for the program
Assist as needed in Social Security audit process for Representative Payee Program
General:
Conduct timely performance reviews of assigned staff
Develop Annual Operating Plan and long term strategic planning for PS and FRS
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Masters or higher degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, and at least two years of experience in counseling, casework, case management, preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention role; or a Bachelors' degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology plus at least three years of experience in counseling, casework or case management providing protective or crisis intervention services.
Advanced Social work license preferred, LICSW or LICSW-eligible. Five years' experience in crisis work, preferably with older adults. Experience in a Protective Services position preferred. Good verbal, written communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and public speaking skills. Experience in program development and program management. Experience in program quality management, budget preparation and staff development. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Hours: 37.5 per week
