Hours: 1st shift | Supervisory Responsibilities | Minimal to no Travel | Pay commensurate with experience
Full-Time Imaging Director in the Imaging Department.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for patient care while patient is in Radiology Department, under the supervision of the radiologist. Responsible for managing the departments in accordance with hospital policy.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Regulatory Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic technology. Training program that is AMA approved and meets the requirements of the American registry of Radiologic Technologist or its equivalent. Five years of experience in department or with broad experience of departmental policy and administrative procedures. Current and maintains ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in a least one modality. CPR certification within 1 month of hire.
Supervisory/Leadership Responsibility: Analyzes department needs/problems and complete by deadline. Decisive in matters requiring prompt attention. Carefully considers alternatives before making decisions. Keeps superiors informed of department development and outcomes of problem resolution. Reports patient concerns to Key Manager. Demonstrates mission and values of the facility. Manages time appropriately to meet department needs. Attends Department Manager Meetings. Promotes the cultural of safety by attending Safety Meetings. Understands and submits correct forms for ordering equipment/supplies/education/expense reimbursement, patient/Visitor Occurrence Reporting system, etc. Reviews department policies at least annually. Reviews disaster/safety policies for department. Maintains and reviews standards for JCAHO on an ongoing basis. Identifies QI projects for the department at least annually. Submits QI Projects by deadline.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors the patients and physician satisfaction and follows through with needs identified through the monitoring process. Maintains the effectiveness and high quality in the area of patient relationship. Prepares budgets within the guidelines of the facility. Monitors the day-to-day and monthly budget and keeps the department within the budget. Must achieve no less than 95% of revenue goal and no more than 95% expense goal. Record keeping is performed with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Keeps CNO informed of unusual occurrences. Maintains and updates the department with new procedures and equipment as needed. Works closely with radiologist to maintain a high quality department in the areas of image quality, offering the procedures the ordering physicians need, new equipment, improving the daily department operation so the flow of information is efficient. Participates on any assigned committees. Plays an active role on the committees, offering suggestions, questions, etc. as needed to assist in the improvement of the hospital and it's function. Maintains the offsite storage in an orderly manner. Purges films according to current film retention standards. Pulls film jackets as needed for Radiologist to compare images previously obtained. Maintains and understands the functionality of the PACS system. Insures all records are complete and accurate. Instructs staff on the basic troubleshooting and use of the PACS or CR systems. Works with the Medical Staff to insure that there is an understanding of the departments capabilities in regards to technical abilities of each piece of equipment in the department. Works with Physicians Offices to insure that staff understands the use of Meditech and the PACS system and provides training for new staff and review of systems as needed. Performs duties of staff Radiologic technologists when required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Budget:
Monitors and controls FTE budget. Monitors and controls expense items against budget. Monitors overtime (OT) against budget. Year-to-date overtime no more than 2%. Completes department budget using the Meditech computer system. Meets deadline. Analyzes and recommends new revenue/enhancements
Makes recommendations as to the purchase of capital equipment items in budget.
Human Resources:
Completes employee performance evaluations according to policy. Counsels regularly with subordinates about their performance. Uses appropriate forms according to policy. Follows the steps of the Hiring/Termination Processes. Conducts 12 staff meetings and reviews/signs minutes of all meetings monthly and a copy to the Key Manager. Submits payroll accurately via Kronos System on employees/contract employees according to designated times. Completes appropriate forms per hospital policy (i.e., absence forms, employee incident reports, termination, etc.). Submits requested information to the Information Technology (IT) on payroll Monday. Adheres to the Salaried Employee Policy. Sends itinerary to Key Manager on Friday every week.
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
