The Bridge Program is a two-year, non-degree certificate program at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. It offers an immersive college experience for young adults with developmental disabilities between the ages of 18–24. Students in the Bridge Program develop and strengthen their skills in the following core areas:

  • Education
  • Career Exploration
  • Executive Functioning
  • Independent Living
  • Self-Advocacy
  • Socialization

Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Direct and oversee the overall operations of the program including supervision of full time and part time staff, budget management, and administrative oversight.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data for program assessment and accreditation.
  • Coordinate professional development for Bridge staff in addition to providing training to faculty, staff and students on the purpose and goals of the program.
  • Collaborate with University departments to include Bridge in key events such as Open Houses, Accepted Students Day, and Commencement.
  • Partake in division, university-wide or community committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students

Recruitment and Marketing:

  • Oversee and lead the admissions and application review process for each new cohort while collaborating with the Office of Admissions
  • Represent the program at transition fairs and community events.
  • Work closely with the University’s public relations and communications team on marketing efforts such as updating the website and social media pages, creating press releases and developing marketing materials.

Student Success:

  • Act as direct point of contact for families - communicating with families regarding admissions, general updates, students’ academic progress and students’ behavioral needs.
  • Lead student conduct meetings.
  • Teach Bridge courses as needed.

Budget and Fundraising:

  • In collaboration with the Dean of Students, manage and maintain the program’s budget and resources effectively and strategically. Work with University leadership to ensure operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement to seek and obtain external funds to support the program including state, regional, foundation, and federal grants.
  • Work closely with families, brokers and fiscal intermediaries to help maximize use of state-funding, such as OPWDD Self-Direction reimbursement, for services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, social work or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience developing a program and managing full-time staff.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in education-based settings, ideally postsecondary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
