Job Summary
The Director, Financial Systems is responsible for leading the development, optimization, and support of financial systems that enable robust Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities. Serves as a critical liaison between Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure planning systems are scalable, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
Essential Duties
Lead Financial Systems Strategy:
Own the roadmap for FP&A-related systems (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Oracle EPBCS, SAP BPC, Workday Adaptive, or similar).
Drive evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial planning tools.
System Architecture, Development & Optimization:
Design and manage end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes within planning platforms.
Partner with FP&A to develop models, dashboards, and reports supporting business analysis.
Business Partnership:
Collaborate with business units, IT, and Finance to identify system requirements, streamline workflows, and ensure data accuracy.
Translate business needs into scalable system configurations.
Project & Change Management:
Lead system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
Champion change management and user adoption.
Lead the transformation of current operating models into a product delivery, value-focused framework.
Data Governance & Controls:
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Establish and maintain data governance frameworks across planning systems.
Team Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing team of financial systems analysts and administrators.
Mentor and develop team members for career growth and operational excellence.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum Experience
10+ years in financial systems, with at least 5 supporting FP&A functions.
5+ years of management experience.
Proven success in leading planning system implementations or major upgrades.
Experience with modern EPM tools (e.g., Anaplan, OneStream, Oracle, SAP, Workday Adaptive, Planful, etc.).
Master's degree or CPA may offset experience requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with enterprise data warehouses, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), and ERP integrations.
Experience with Azure, Databricks, data science, machine learning & AI.
Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations (GAAP, SOX).
Strong understanding of FP&A processes and methodologies.
Excellent project management and leadership skills.
Expertise in financial modeling, system architecture, and data integrations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead large teams through change.
Preferred Qualifications
Pay Transparency: This range is an estimate of the current starting salary across all potential locations. Actual pay depends on experience, market, location, and other factors. Employees may be eligible for additional pay, bonuses, and benefits including health, vision, dental, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay Range: $12,476.52 - $22,873.62 monthly.
