Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented individual to lead the overall vision, direction, and performance of our Community Management Accounting function. This role will oversee a team of seasoned accounting professionals responsible for delivering full-cycle financial services to approximately clients. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in accrual-based accounting, a track record of building and leading high-performing teams, and a commitment to operational excellence and superior client service. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely preparation, review, and delivery of monthly financial statements, year-end attest engagements, and tax filings, while driving process improvements, system enhancements, and scalable practices that support long-term growth.
Essential Functions
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the accounting department, ensuring operational excellence, financial accuracy, and timely deliverables.
Design, implement, and monitor robust internal control frameworks to ensure full compliance with GAAP, GASB, Florida statutes, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
Serve as the senior accounting liaison to client Boards, delivering executive-level guidance, financial forecasting, and strategic recommendations to support fiduciary responsibilities.
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, annual tax filings, banking relationships and external audit engagements, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and financial policies that drive scalability, reduce risk, and improve reporting efficiency.
Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the accounting team.
Perform additional duties as required to support the company’s financial and operational objectives.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
CPA license a plus but not required.
Experience
Experience in Association or Community Management and/or governmental accounting is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of full cycle accounting experience.
A minimum of 6 years in a leadership role.

Proficiency in managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
Brings deep expertise in accrual-based accounting with a strategic understanding of financial operations in the property management and association sector.
Highly effective at translating complex financial data into strategic insights for clients, board members, and internal leadership teams.
Demonstrated success in leading accounting organizations—setting vision, defining priorities, and driving execution across multiple teams and workstreams.
Proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Strong command of GAAP and complex accounting treatments, ensuring the integrity of monthly reporting and year-end financial statements.
Adept at managing competing priorities while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals and operational excellence.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across functions and with clients, vendors, auditors, and executive leadership.
Upholds the highest ethical standards, modeling professionalism and consistency to inspire trust and elevate organizational culture.
Recognized for identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements that drive accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Yes, including training, mentoring, and providing problem-solving solutions to team members.

Physical Demands
Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Must be able to drive to different office sites and properties from time to time.
