As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital member of a dedicated team providing compassionate care and essential treatment activities for patients experiencing renal failure. You will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) to ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients.
Your Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care. You will engage with patients to deliver safe, high-quality dialysis treatment. Your responsibilities will include collecting patient vital signs before and after procedures, starting and monitoring treatments, ending treatment sessions, and obtaining blood samples as per physician instructions.
Technician Responsibilities. Upholding the highest standards of quality, you will prepare dialysis machines, clean and disinfect them post-treatment, and perform safety checks, logging all results to comply with protocols and regulations.
Commitment to Safety and Quality. You will utilize personal protective equipment and adhere strictly to company policies, state, and federal guidelines. Participation in staff meetings and ongoing education will be essential to your role.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A genuine interest in healthcare and patient support.
Previous experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is advantageous.
Comfort with safely handling acids and bicarbonate as required.
Able to distinguish all primary colors.
Additional Requirements:
Completion of the USRC training program, including competency evaluation within 8 weeks of hire.
CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by the state.
Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire and maintained according to state requirements.
