POSITION TITLE: Development and Communications Manager
The Development & Communications Manager will support the growth of ANEWs fundraising program while leading strategic communications that elevate our mission, impact, and partnerships. This role blends donor engagement, storytelling, and content strategy to deepen relationships with institutional funders, corporate sponsors, and individual donors. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, results-driving, and capable of exercising editorial judgement to ensure accuracy and seamless execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Fundraising Support & Donor Engagement Support annual and campaign-specific fundraising efforts through content creation, donor communications, and stewardship materials. Manage programmatic & development communication calendars and draft appeals, acknowledgement letter, and impact updates Maintain and update donor records in CRM (Little Green Light) Assist with planning and executing donor event, tours, and public facing engagements
Produce quarterly impact reports, case statements and other donor-facing materials Strategic Communications
Develop and implement a communications plan to grow visibility across ANEW audiences
Manage ANEWs website, email newsletter, and social media presence in alignment with brand voice and goals
Collect and curate impact stories, alumni testimonials, and program success content for use across platforms
Serve as project manager for marketing and communications efforts related to events, campaigns and partner recognition
Work cross-functionally with outreach, recruitment, and program teams to ensure alignment of messaging Storytelling and Brand Development
Build and manage a story bank to organize visual and narrative content for grants, events, and digital channels
Develop templates and toolkits for staff, board, and partners to support outreach, presentations, and brand consistency
Collaborate on multimedia content production (video, photo, graphics) for storytelling purposes
Track metrics and engagement data to inform communications and donor outreach strategy
MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing or communications 5+ years preferred Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across print and digital formats Strong project management, organizational, and cross-team collaboration skills Wordpress website development and maintenance experience Nonprofit CRM Experience (Little Green Light and/or Salesforce Preferred), email marketing tools (Constant Contact), and social media platforms Preferred Skills: Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), SEO Management, experience managing contractors or vendors for communications-related projects. Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment

WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned. This is a 100% in-office position. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday Friday, 8:00 am 4:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends REPORTS TO: Director of Development
SALARY
This position is paid an exempt position with a starting salary range of $81,219 - 86,202.89 per year . This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting salary is based on education and experience.
BENEFITS
The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits.
A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and taxes as required by law. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401k after one year of employment. ANEW Employees will not be permitted to use paid vacation or sick leave until successful completion of their 90-day probationary period.
