Description Position Summary: GoldenWolf is seeking a Database Developer and Administrator who can oversee database operations, ensure data integrity, and make rapid, informed decisions. The ideal candidate will leverage strong analytical skills to monitor system performance, detect and resolve issues, and evaluate diverse data formats to drive actionable insights. Essential Functions: 01) Database Management & Operations Manage SQL Server databases across development, testing, and mission-critical production environments Configure, monitor, and maintain database servers and processes to ensure high performance, availability, and security Independently troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in real time 02) Data Modeling & Architecture Apply data modeling techniques and develop physical data models to support business applications, ETL, and metadata management Design relational databases and implement data access business rules for effective data retrieval Develop architectural strategies for operational data stores and extract-transform-load (ETL) pipelines 03) Automation & Process Improvement Create and maintain automation scripts for routine database tasks and data extractions Refine, document, and automate regular processes; track issues and log configuration changes Evaluate and recommend emerging database technologies and new software packages 04) Performance Optimization & Query Tuning Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement to improve efficiency Monitor system health metrics and optimize database performance based on real-time analysis 05) Reporting & Analytical Support Build and manage database reports; generate queries for Power BI and other analytical tools Support DHA FE PBI staff by extracting data from central MHS/DHA systems and delivering actionable insights Identify and troubleshoot data import, analysis, and visualization errors 06) Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Partner with system architects, software developers, DBAs, design analysts, and end users to define requirements and timelines Consult with clients and colleagues to align database solutions with business needs Document user inquiries from DHA, MHS, and external programs; collaborate on resolutions with developers 07) Governance, Compliance & Security Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security of DHA databases and data marts Adhere to Military Health System (MHS) protocols, obtain necessary access approvals, and follow information-security best practices 08) Data Analysis & Quality Assurance Analyze data trends, relationships, and anomalies; interpret results to support decision-making Evaluate data sources and collection procedures for validity, reliability, efficiency, and applicability 09) Data Integration & Table Optimization Restructure and convert data tables (in collaboration with Government DBAs) to enhance accessibility and analytic capability Utilize relational database techniques to manage information flow across DHA, MHS, and other government systems 10) Administrative & Management Support Provide management and administrative assistance to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of database initiatives Maintain thorough documentation of processes, procedures, and system designs Job Type: COA - Contingent On Award of this project Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel Requirements: Up to 25% of worktime Benefits Offered: Paid Time Off 11 Paid Federal Holidays Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Supplemental Insurance 401K Retirement Savings Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO): It has been and will continue to be a fundamental policy that GoldenWolf, LLC., is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities, committed to maintaining world-class facilities through technical excellence and innovation. Requirements Required Qualifications: Microsoft Server operation and administration, and Network Administration. DBA to include Business Objects, SQL, SAS, HL7, and ETL. Relational Database and Modeling experience DBA to include M2, MDR, Discern, and Health Analytics experience. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related IM/IT Field, or Comparable certifications and 5 years of technical and project lead experience are preferred.
Salary Description $65,000.00 - $115,000.00
