Position Purpose: The Home Depot is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer II. This role focuses on firewall lifecycle management, automation, and scripting, with hands-on work with tools like Python and Ansible.
Job Description:
- Firewall Lifecycle Management: Support all phases of firewall lifecycle management, including installation, configuration, decommissioning, and migrating application traffic in accordance with design specifications and operational guidelines.
- Patching and Upgrading: Assist in patching and upgrading firewall software through automated tools and develop expertise in maintaining firewall software currency and stability.
- Incident Response and Vulnerability Management: Gain a strong understanding of the network environment to effectively participate in incident response efforts and manage firewall-related vulnerabilities.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and Looker to support troubleshooting activities and facilitate successful project implementations.
- Automation Solutions: Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts and solutions leveraging Ansible and Python to improve operational efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of proven experience in network and security engineering or operations.
- Strong knowledge of switching and routing protocols; Cisco certification is highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles; Palo Alto certification is a plus.
- Hands-on experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on in programming or automation languages such as Ansible or Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure is preferred.
- Passionate about continuous learning and growth in the field of network security.

Key Responsibilities:
- 100% Deliver Execution & Problem Solving - Collaborate with Enterprise Technology to configure and integrate cybersecurity systems that mitigate risk; Troubleshoot and quickly resolve escalated incidents; Design, build, configure, maintain, monitor cybersecurity threat defense capabilities and user access management; Coordinate integration and collaboration with managed security providers; Investigate and recommend corrective actions related to incidents

Travel Requirements:
- No travel required.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
