Job Summary
Responsible for reviewing patient lab values, medications, physical assessment (BMI, body fat %) in order to make diet and medication recommendations to physicians, patients and/or caregivers. Responsible for following up of patients, educating patients and/or caregivers, and documentation. Dietitians will assist in quality assessment audits, in-service and community education programs, as well as participate in interdisciplinary team for care planning and quality improvement as required by regulatory bodies.
May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Weekend responsibilities for provider call coverage in collaboration with external partners to provide education for new pediatric diagnosis of diabetes.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited Food and Nutrition of Dietetics Program
Experience
Preferred: Completion of an American Dietetics Association (ADA) approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program
Preferred: Clinical medical office experience preferred.
Preferred: Pediatric experience
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
Proficient Computer skills
Successful completion of all department specific credentialing within first 90 days of employment
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Licensed in the State of Missouri as a Registered Dietitian.
Preferred: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) within 18 months of hire.
