Position Summary:
This position promotes mental health on the campus through direct intervention, outreach programming, consultation and training. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Wellness, the position will be responsible for providing mental health services to the students of Arkansas Tech University. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide mental health counseling for currently enrolled students at Arkansas Tech University.
Conduct psychoeducational workshops and participate in outreach programming, especially as related to alcohol and other drug education.
Coordinate alcohol and drug education on the campus and complete the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act biennial report.
Make referrals for long-term counseling as appropriate.
Provide consultation to students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding college student mental health.
Assist in training activities regarding student mental health.
Provide crisis intervention services to students experiencing mental health emergencies
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Arkansas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years work experience in a mental health setting.
Experience working in a university setting.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
This position reports to the office on the university campus.
Some evening and weekend work is required to effectively administer services and programs and assist the campus community during crisis situations.
Occasional after-hours phone consultation in crisis situations.
