Summary As a Clinical Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work under the supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers, assisting in various clinical and procedural tasks that are essential for patient management. Job Responsibilities Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical histories, and confirming the purpose of visit. Enter medical histories and visit information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Escort patients to exam rooms and ask pertinent medical questions. Prepare patients for exams by providing necessary materials and ensuring they are ready for the physician's visit. Assist the physician during medical examinations and procedures. Schedule medical procedures and instruct patients on proper medication usage. Phone in prescriptions to various pharmacies. Conduct wound dressing changes, remove sutures, and perform in-office phlebotomy. Collect, log, and package laboratory specimens for transport. Sterilize medical instruments and maintain an organized inventory of supplies. Complete phone triage and communicate pathology and lab results to patients. Scribe office visits and administer IM, SQ, and topical medications as ordered. Perform and document nurse visit appointments including suture removals, UVB, Excimer, Patch Testing, and Biologic injections. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent certificate. Prior experience in a medical office is preferred. Self-motivated with a commitment to achieving high standards in patient care and customer service. Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus. Experience with the ModMed EMA EMR system is preferred. Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations. A team player who is ready to collaborate with healthcare professionals. Physical Demands This role requires standing or walking for extended periods, lifting objects or equipment up to 35 lbs, and moderate levels of pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Observing details at close range and hearing normal conversational levels are also essential.
