The Clinical Educator II is responsible for coordinating the orientation of nursing personnel and representing the organization in community activities. They also plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing continuing education programs.
The Clinical Educator II must maintain consistency with administrative and departmental policies through behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. They ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by local, state, and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
To be successful in this role, the Clinical Educator II must have a strong understanding of adult education principles and be able to plan and implement educational activities to meet identified learning needs. They must also develop and utilize an appropriate evaluative system to determine the effectiveness of educational activities.
Additionally, the Clinical Educator II promotes collaborative relationships among healthcare professionals and participates in committees, task forces, meetings, and activities to assist in staff development, resulting in improved care. They participate in professional development activities through education and other initiatives that enhance the practice of nursing and education.
The Clinical Educator II is responsible for developing, coordinating, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel. They support ongoing assessment and evaluation of expected performance levels integrating knowledge, skills, ability, and judgment. They also develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate competency programs.
Furthermore, the Clinical Educator II designs educational activities to address practice gaps for target audiences including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel. They develop, coordinate, manage, conduct, and evaluate learning activities to enhance professional practice, education, administration, research, or theory development.
In this role, the Clinical Educator II assists in identifying and developing strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning. They participate in research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and quality improvement (QI) educational activities and projects. They share expertise in planning and decision-making to achieve desired results.
Requirements Education/Skills Graduate of an accredited RN program
BSN degree preferred
Experience Minimum of three years clinical RN experience required
Clinical educator or nursing instructor experience preferred
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Current Texas State RN License
BLS (American Heart Association) required
