An established San Mateo law firm is currently seeking a Full-Time Civil Litigation Attorney to independently oversee the day-to-day file handling. The candidate must have experience in all phases of litigation, including depositions, drafting summary judgments, and trial preparation. Responsibilities include supporting partners and associates, delegating tasks, and managing files. This is a full-time position. The Civil Litigation Attorney supports the firm's mission by providing cost-effective legal services. The ideal candidate works independently, meets deadlines, and enhances the customer experience. Ideal Candidate: Charismatic, trustworthy, team player, proactive Mature, responsible, values personal growth Big picture thinker, contributes to positive outcomes High attention to detail, common sense, self-supervised Go the extra mile, self-starter Handles pressure well Willing to work outside typical hours as needed Essential Functions: Initial case analysis and investigation Status reporting, case analysis, and procedural impact Preparing and reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery documents Managing depositions and case conferences Legal research, drafting briefs, and attending ADR proceedings Subject Matter Experience: Public entity defense, including dangerous conditions, negligence, Civil Rights 1983 Actions Automobile and premises liability defense Commercial general liability defense Probate and trust litigation Physical Requirements: Prolonged desk work and computer use Ability to lift up to 15 pounds Qualifications: California Bar membership Graduate of an accredited law school 3+ years of legal experience Strong civil procedure and evidence knowledge Trial litigation, research, writing, and analysis skills Experience with Law and Motion, Discovery (California statutes) Ability to prepare litigation budgets Knowledge of California personal injury liens, Medicare, Howell, trust, and probate litigation is a plus Skills and Aptitudes: Excellent writing and communication skills Proficiency in MS Office, Clio, Acrobat, legal billing software, HotDocs, electronic filing, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking Compensation: Total salary ranges from $90,000 to $150,000, depending on experience, with performance bonuses and minimum billed hours of 1550.
