Job Location: OPL 276 Mbo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State

Job Status: One (1) year Renewable Contract

Job Purpose/ Key Objectives:

• The Civil Engineer will supervise all civil engineering activities on the OPL 276 project site on behalf of Lekoil 276.
• The job holder will ensure that all civil works are carried out in accordance with the design or best professional practice.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Support and advise the project team on all matters relating to civil/ structural aspects of the project.
• Supervise and manage all civil and survey-related activities and works that will be carried out by the different civil contractors at the OPL 276 project site on behalf of the Company and report to the Project & Engineering Manager.
• Ensure that all civil works meet both design intents and the Company's quality expectations.
• Provide input to the Company on matters relating to civil/ structural activities at the OPL 276 project site.
• Produce conceptual civil designs to aid the Company in putting in place the necessary civil infrastructures as part of the OPL 276 field development.
• Participate in civil design reviews and make useful input.
• Assist the Company in scoping out civil works and generating in-house estimates.
• Perform all other duties that are necessary and reasonably attached to this Civil Engineer position and the fulfillment of its responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
• Masters degree in a related discipline is an added value.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 - 10 years in civil and construction engineering in the Upstream or an international EPCI Company.
• Candidate should have at least a minimum of 5 6 experience in Oil & Gas industry, in a consulting or EPC company with Design & Engineering capability.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior or supervisory role.
• Previous experience with an indigenous exploration & production will be an advantage but not a prerequisite.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Considerable experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
• Good communicator and good inter-personal/leadership skills.
• Experience in managing JV partners in knowledge sharing and taking the lead in technical matters
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Familiarity and previous project experience in the swamps of the Niger Delta are preferred.
• Experience in managing small teams and third-party contractors.
• Acting as a champion to break new ground and being self-motivated.
• Previous site experience for an oil & gas construction project is a must, preferably with a reputable construction firm. Building site experience will not be acceptable.
• Design experience with good mastery of AUTOCAD.
• Ability to generate BOQ and cost estimates.
• Good knowledge of surveys and the use of survey equipment.
• Demonstrate a high level of oral and written skills (English), good listening ability, demonstrate personal initiative and ability to mentor subordinates.
