Position Summary NMF seeks an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) tojoin our executive team. This newly created role will lead and integrate ourcore operational areas: Programs, Marketing, and Alumni Engagement .Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will ensure operational excellence,foster cross-functional collaboration, and most importantly, drive thecontinued growth and innovation of NMF’s impactful programs. This isa unique opportunity for a leader who is deeply passionate about programdevelopment and ready to make a national impact in the healthcare space. This isa remote position , with a preference for candidates located inthe Northeast U.S. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Collaborate with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadershipteam members to develop and implement organizational strategy and enhanceteamwork that advances NMF's mission Provide visionary leadership for Programs, Marketing, and AlumniEngagement departments Translate organizational goals into actionable departmental objectiveswith clear metrics Represent NMF in strategic partnerships, industry conferences, andstakeholder meetings Program Development & Management Provide strategic oversight and direction for the design,implementation, and evaluation of NMF's global programs portfolio Provide strategic direction for program development, ensuring alignmentwith NMF’s programmatic theory of change, that programming is addressing theemerging needs of the health care field and workforce, and maximum impact Establish and manage key programmatic partnerships and relationships Oversee program budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
Marketing & Communications Oversight Direct marketing strategies that elevate NMF's brand visibility andsupport fundraising efforts Oversee the development of compelling messaging that effectivelycommunicates NMF's impact and value Guide digital marketing strategies and content development across allplatforms Ensure marketing initiatives support program recruitment and alumniengagement goals
Alumni Engagement & Network Building Collaborating with colleagues across departments (Programs andDevelopment) provides strategic direction for and oversight of a comprehensivealumni engagement strategy to leverage NMF's extensive network Support the creation of pathways for alumni to contribute theirexpertise, resources, and networks to advance NMF's mission Establish mentorship and professional development opportunitiesconnecting alumni with current scholars Oversee alumni events, communications, and recognition programs
Operational Excellence Optimize organizational processes and workflows across departments Develop and monitor departmental budgets and ensure fiscalresponsibility Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting processes related toprogramming and alumni engagement initiatives Ensure compliance with grant requirements and organizational policies
Requirements Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Administration, BusinessAdministration, Public Health, or related field 10+ years of senior leadership experience with progressively increasingresponsibility, preferably in nonprofit organizations Demonstrated experience managing multiple functional areassimultaneously Proven track record in program development, implementation, andevaluation Experience managing and developing professional staff Excellence in organizational development and operational efficiency Experience with strategic planning and implementation Superior communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare, education, or philanthropy sectors Knowledge of medical education systems and healthcare workforcedevelopment issues Experience with scholarship program administration Background in alumni relations or network development Proficiency with CRM systems, program management software, and dataanalytics Experience in marketing or communications leadership
