The Board of Directors for Tri-Town YMCA is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of CEO.
Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the chief leader and ambassador of the organization, responsible for the overall strategic direction, financial health, operational excellence, and community impact of the YMCA. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners, the CEO ensures that the YMCA remains a vital, mission-driven organization focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of senior leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit, community service, or mission-driven organizations.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, fundraising, community engagement, and team leadership.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing $1M+ budget and shared use of facility spaces.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as Quick Books, ADP, and registration softwares.
Must have proficient knowledge of State and Federal benefit programs such CCAP and SFSP.
Must complete and pass a criminal background check prior to start of employment.
Must have the ability to read, write, and organize materials in English. Bilingual is a plus.
Proficient ability to work independently and with teams.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports and embodies the core values and Mission of Tri-Town YMCA.
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Lead the development and implementation of the YMCA’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission, values, and community needs.
Serve as the face of the YMCA in the community, building relationships with local leaders, donors, participants, and partners.
Champion a welcoming environment for all.
Financial Stewardship
Oversee financial strategy, planning, and sustainability, ensuring responsible budgeting and fiscal accountability.
Cultivate and secure philanthropic support through fundraising, grant development, and donor engagement.
Work with the Director of Operations to monitor financial performance and ensure the organization’s long-term viability.
Operational Management
Provide oversight and direction for all YMCA programs, sites, and services to ensure high-quality, safety, and impact.
Build and lead a high-performing leadership team, fostering professional development and organizational accountability.
Ensure compliance with YMCA USA standards, local regulations, and accreditation requirements such as annual license exemption for child care services.
Board & Governance
Partner with the Board of Directors in governance, strategic decision-making, and organizational oversight.
Support board development, engagement, and recruitment to build a strong, diverse governing body.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Strengthen the YMCA’s presence and partnerships across the region, including with schools, government agencies, nonprofits, and businesses.
Advocate for the YMCA’s mission and impact at the local, state, and national levels.
Promote program participation growth and community trust in the YMCA brand.
Communicate regularly with the community, stakeholders, donors, volunteers, employees, families, and vendors.
Ability to make decisions consistent with goals, values, and mission of Tri-Town YMCA and exercise confidentiality.
