$27.00 per hour JOB SUMMARY Join our team as a CDL B Professional Driver and play a crucial role in the delivery and pickup of containers to and from various customer locations. Your mission? Ensure efficient, safe, and on-time service while building strong relationships with our customers. PAY RANGE: $27.00 per hour General Benefits: Safety bonuses available for drivers, plus boot vouchers and uniforms provided. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safely drive and operate a commercial truck with a unique lift mechanism for loading and unloading containers. Conduct and document daily pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift. Accept additional deliveries as needed to assist the business. Utilize a company-issued handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation. Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane as required. Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are ready for delivery. Manage rental paperwork and payment coordination with customers. Communicate effectively with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer queries, and prepare notes as needed. Perform field repairs on containers and lifts as well as at the storage center. Assist with backup duties at the storage center if needed. Maintain a clean and debris-free truck cab. Other duties may be assigned as required. MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to Management, typically the Market Manager or Territory Manager. This role does not entail direct management of other employees. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Valid CDL Class A license required (without air brake restriction). Current/valid driver license. Ability to meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards. Minimum age of 21 years required. Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain certification. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software is preferred. Basic math skills required. Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience may be considered. Willingness to participate in a required two-week New Hire Driver Training Program. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to remain stationary while driving or operating equipment. Frequent climbing in and out of the truck or forklift. Frequent movement required to operate equipment and deliver containers. Occasionally lifting boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and spatial awareness for vehicle maneuvering. Frequent hand usage for writing, operating vehicles, and handling documents. Regular application of physical strength including lifting and pushing. Frequent reading and writing, with unambiguous communication required. WORKING CONDITIONS Shift start times may vary; overtime may be required including weekends. Travel is within the Location Territory. Storage centers may not be climate-controlled outside designated areas. Work around mechanical parts in varying weather conditions; noise level may be loud. Regular attendance and punctuality are vital. Subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
