JOB SUMMARY
Join our team as a CDL B Driver, where you will be responsible for the timely delivery and pickup of containers at customer locations. Your role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and incident-free transport process while building strong relationships with customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites while adhering to all safety protocols.
Conduct and document daily pre and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift.
Flexibly accept additional deliveries to meet dynamic business needs.
Utilize a company-provided handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
Coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers efficiently.
Communicate and collaborate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer inquiries and concerns, preparing driver notes as required.
Perform on-site repairs of containers and lifts, both in the field and at the storage center.
Provide assistance with storage center operations when needed.
Ensure the truck cab remains clean and free from debris.
May undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Typically report to Management, including roles such as Market Manager and Territory Manager.
This role does not involve direct management of other employees, such as hiring or making pay decisions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
A valid CDL Class B License without an air brake restriction is mandatory.
Must possess a current/valid driver license.
Adhere to PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
Must be at least 21 years old, in compliance with insurance requirements.
Hold a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or be able to obtain a minimum of a 1-year certification, following DOT requirements.
Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software is preferred.
Basic math skills adequate to perform necessary job functions.
Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
Ability to attend and complete the required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
